This game is a great time killer, but the AI is a bit overpowered.
The AI has absolutely NO resource requirment. Becuase of this, the AI can endlessly spam any/all planets with fleets, even when one of its resources os halted. and less than 30 seconds in to the round, it speeds up from sending 2 fleets at a time, to 5-10 at the same planet in one go.
This little problem tends to ruin the game at level 5 or 6. No matter how you use your money/metal/population (attack & capture enemy planets, capture neutral planets, send to beef up defences on friendly planets, or do nothing and gather resources)the most you can do is capture the neutrals, and one enemy planet. Doing that spreads your resources extremely thin, because you need to constantly send fresh fleets to planets under siege. Sooner or later (usually sooner)one of your planets goes down. Once you have lost all planets of the same type, you no longer produce that resource AT ALL. Even of you capture one of the enemies planets, you cannot win that way, becuase the enemy keeps attacking even though it has no resouce production of that type. The player needs 5metal, 5 population, and 5 dollars to send a fleet that does 5 damage. The enemy needs no resources at all to send a fleet that sometimes glitches and does 6 damage.
The AI needs to be dumbed down a bit, and/or have a resource requirement for it to send ships. Also, the station should produce .5 of each resource per second, and you should be able to attack the enemy station.
